Athlete Registration

Katara Vertical will take place on Friday, May 24.  Ursa Trail 40km will take place on Saturday, May 25. Ursa Trail 11km and Ursa Trail 21km will both take place on Sunday, May 26. All races follow looped courses, with the start and end points found at the central square of Metsovo (alt. 1150m).

The routes of the races mainly follow marked trails. The elevation gains for Ursa Trail 40km and Ursa Trail 21km total approximately 2700m and 1050m, respectively.

Participation costs are as follows:

    • Ursa Trail 40km: 45€
    • Ursa Trail 21km: 25€
    • Ursa Trail 11km: 15€
    • Katara Vertical: 15€

Payments are strictly accepted via credit or debit card.

Terms of participation.

I declare responsibly that I have taken note of the rules of the race and accept them fully. I know this is a very demanding race that takes place in a mountainous environment and possibly under extreme weather conditions.
I also declare responsibly that I am perfectly healthy and have recently been examined by a doctor.
The organizing committee is relieved of any claim of my own or of my relatives, of any injury to my health, of any injury or loss of life during or after the end of the race.

The Ultra Ursa Trail is a 100-km long race, comprising  5.500m of total positive altitude difference. It starts from Metsovo and passes through the  Valia Calda National Park, the wallachian villages of Milia and Anilio to end again in Metsovo.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 21/07 unless 200 paid registrations are completed earlier!
RACE START TIME: SATURDAY, August 31, @ 5AM

RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE: All athletes who are over 20 years old and have successfully finished at least two >40-km long races over the last two calendar years, with a minimum total climbing index of 130 (e.g.  Ursa Trail 40km + 2.700m = 67 points, Zagori 44km + 2.600m = 70 pts,  Olympus Marathon 44km + 3.200m = 76 pts, Ultra Ursa Trail 100km + 5.500 = 155 pts) have the right to participate.

The Organizing Committee maintains the copyright of the photo shooting and filming of the race, conducted by authorized partners. Any athlete accepted to participate automatically accepts this condition knowing that his or her face may appear in photos or videos without permission and without claiming any compensation from any material publication of the event.

The Committee is not responsible for the death, injury or any damage to the health of the competitors who, by submitting the application, state that they are aware of the dangers that exist in the mountainous environment and that their health is good and allows them to race, and have recently been examined by a doctor for this purpose. However, no athlete will be required to present a medical certificate. Athletes themselves are required to regularly perform medical exams to check their health status. The Commission disclaims all responsibility for the physical integrity of athletes, who should behave responsibly at points of the route where the risk of falling with unpleasant or fatal outcome is increased. The Commission disclaims any financial responsibility in case of external assistance to any athlete.

The organizers reserve the right to amend the rules for the race without prior notice.
